Bippies
My fiance and I took a bus to the end of Haight street in San Fransisco on our first day in California. I was a little shocked at the amount of bums just laying in the park. Then I realized I was on Haight street and they were probably hippies. Of course sometimes you can’t really distinguish bums from hippies, which is why I’d like to use the word… bippies!, or hums. I could in hindsight have just called them all Jack or Mr. Kerouac, but most wouldn’t have got the joke. After a few hours of getting lost in the park, and being molested by squirrels, a bippie asked us where we were from. Realizing that the bippies out west aren’t all escaped mental patients we answered NEW YORK! (in our toughest Italian accents) and quickly walked down a street to avoid him. New yorkers don’t really like to talk to random people in the street, regardless of what you’ve heard. We do however throw things from cars like in the weatherman. It’s true because I saw it in a movie once, and I’ve got wikipedia to back me up punk! (none of this is true).
