Smoke and Mirrors
I wrote this cartoon in response to Richard Branson’s pledge to invest 100 percent of all future proceeds to the Virgin Group from the transportation interest, both trains and airline businesses, into tackling global warming. The money to keep the business going has to come from somewhere, and I can’t seem to find out where exactly that is. I’ve recently found out that Richard Branson is also offering a 25 million dollar prize to anyone that can develop the technology to scrub the atmosphere clean of greenhouse gasses. Pardon me, but don’t we need a certain level of greenhouse gasses to keep the planet from being a huge ball of ice? It makes me worry that rich people are playing one giant game of monopoly with the mad hatter and the march hare, which would make us the dormouse.
