This cartoon took me forever to write, and I’m not sure why. I knew what the joke was, but had no idea how to get there. I hope this makes sense. On a side note: featureless automatons are really easy to draw. Just cut and paste four times. Speaking of cut and paste, I use it a lot when I draw these cartoons. Sometimes it fits the joke, and sometimes it’s because I have very little time to create. Someday, when I can do this full time, I’ll be able to really draw some interesting panels (provided it makes sense to the story), or I’ll start a second webcomic. I’ve been toying with a few ideas for a second webcomic these last few months, and so far the best ideas seem to include a lot of fan input, which is exciting because I’d like to know more about why people like these things. I know why I like them, but why does anyone else? Even better, why doesn’t anyone like them?

Would people be more inclined to give me opinions if I left my e-mail address public? or is everyone ok with leaving them as comments?

“Are you a chick or a dude?”

    I can relate. ;-)

I think you’re more likely to get feedback as comments rather than as an email, but if you’re happy giving out your email address then it might give you a bit extra.

“Speaking of cut and paste, I use it a lot”.

CHEAT! I draw every frame of my little strip by hand. ;-)

Well, now that I’ve noticed that we can leave comments, I’m happy with that. And I’d love to see a second webcomic! Thad be great!

Oh. And it there any chance of ever having colored strips? to me, It’d seem like it would really benefit this strip. You could do it somewhere along the lines of the webcomic Bunny, where basically only the main objects and characters are colored. (Or you could just color the background)

    Just a thought.

Looks like I’ll just leave it to the comments for my feedback. I didn’t really want to give out my e-mail address anyway. Thanks guys!

I’ve given color a lot of thought in this strip. I’ve done every panel in gray because my idea of the future is supposed to be bleak and uncompromising. Traditionally cartoon strips use color on Sundays, and I have chose to make every day gray and in the same format as a statement on the homogenization of assembly line style art. I apologize if this doesn’t make too much sense right now. I’m still working on this idea and I hope to have it solidified enough to write about it clearly by the time I have a book out. (beginning of next year if I can keep this up.)

Of course it’s not to say that color won’t ever show up. There may be a cartoon that needs color someday, and I do love the way bunny uses color. Hmmmmmmmm definitely something to think about.

My second cartoon strip would definitely have some color in it.

Your vision of the future is bleak indeed. Ever thought about how your vision creates your future. I’ve challenged my readers and a few bloggers with my “Five things my Grandchildren will say to me” Meme. Here are a couple of mine:
    Grandma, what’s a lawn?
What did you call those buildings where the community gardens are now, supermarkets?
What do you wish your’s will say to you?
Once we vision the future we wish to create, everyday decisions and everyday inspiration comes so much easier.

    Blessings

I guess this is just random feedback page…. ok then.

Just stumbled on the site and am quite pleased to have discovered it.

I had run out of comics to distract me while at work and fiend for the updates on the ones that I continue reading.

I like the stark look (what you indicated you were going for was accomplished) and your wit.

Although you have your ups and down overall it is a great read by far.

Keep up the good work! I’ve read half a year today and am sad that it went so fast…

Now that the ozone layer is gone you also don’t have to worry about pesky weeds as all vegetation is toast. No more mowing the lawn either.

I like that I dont have to work on the ol six pack anymore to look good for spring break.

The best has got to be eating the artificial meat paste produced in an underground processing plant.
