It seems there’s so many different revolutions happening at once it’s hard to know which to be a part of. You could join the technology revolution but that will only lead to your enslavement by machines. You could join the social media revolution, but you’ll end up with eyestrain, and a wealth of opinions with very little truth (this blog is a prime example). You could join the revolution of carbonated beverages, but that’ll just give you diabetes.
After your eyes have gone, your computer is too bossy, and your legs ache, you could join the green revolution, but you’ll have a hard time weeding out the hippies, bandwagon politicians, and crazy banjo playing mountain people (I prefer them to the other two).
I propose a new revolution, one that will quietly sit while the others shout profanities at each other. One that everyone can partake in and not even know that they are doing so. The revolution of common sense. Turn off your TV and start listening to yourself. You were born with everything you need to survive, now act like it.

To be fair, though, we WEREN’T born with everything we need to survive. We were born naked and helpless with a severely depleted immune system and an inability to digest most foods. It’s the mammalian way.
That is a good point Mr. Viking, but usually you’re born into a family that can teach you the skills you’ll need, and not what product to buy. As for a depleted immune system, I wouldn’t say depleted so much as it hasn’t been used yet, and needs to build it’s repertoire.
Sure there’s all kinds of diseases that can wipe you out at an early age, and without the vaccines a large number of humans would die right off, but there’d be a few left who weren’t susceptible to them, and they’d make babies that weren’t either. It’s that whole survival of the fittest thing that’s been pushed out of the way thanks to science.
Ahhh, getting the old brain working in the morning, I like this. If the way to get people to comment is by saying stuff they disagree with then so be it! I am the king of untruthiness!
That’s probably the most interesting blog I’ve read from you until now. It’s maybe a overdramatic view, but I tend to see that people don’t, well, do stuff anymore. I can’t say I’m a prime example of a free mind myself, however much I’d like to (I spend most of my free time on IRC or reading webcomics >.> ), but it’s a pity to see some people like they are today.

@Viking & Jeremy: the real stinger is: the more medicines you make (to keep up the example) the less your actual immune system serves a purpose. Same for body hair: we lost that when we started wearing animal skin that served us better.
I disagree with the original point. We are not born with what we need to survive. I appreciate your desire to live a minimalist lifestyle. That is something that should make a come back, hardly revolutionary.
I agree with Niels, medicines do keep you down. STOP WASHING YOUR HANDS WITH ANTIBACTERIAL SOAP! Stop being a bunch of germ-a-phobes! I like to think of how people did things before penicillin was invented, they used harsher chemicals to clean things, lots of iodine. But seriously, we are lucky to live in a time of such medical advancements but we are still gonna die sometime.
I would have to say that all of these “medical advancements” really drive me insane, I have some pretty strong views of survival of the fittest… I won’t get into them. Most people think I am some kind of sick person for having these views, but in an age of over population someone has to put some thought into all of this new medicine.
I have one example.. my aunt… she was born with fluid on her spine and brain, nearly died from it, she had surgery when she was under 12 months old and turned 40 this past January. Great for my grandmother, she didn’t loose a child.. happy happy joy joy… Though when my aunt had children, they were both born with serious mental and physical issues. Several surgeries over the past 15 years to both of her children… they both have been doped up on meds since they were born, and many many crazy medical issues. Her whole family is mentally retarded, and what is sad is that her children will probably have retarded children also.
@Vanessa: Yep, I agree with you about surivival of the fittest. So, so many lives are being “saved” (and yes, I realise the need for sarcastic air-quotes has really gone the way of the cactus dildo, but sometimes you gotta), but there’s NO quality of life. I know a girl who is a violent schizophrenic. Her mother is retarded, and her grandmother fought — unsuccessfully, natch — to have her daughter sterilised so she *couldn’t* become pregnant, because she knew what could happen if she did. Now, as a result of the wonderful government’s decision, this woman (the grandmother) has custody of three fucking insane children: The schizophrenic granddaughter, a pathological liar grandson, and another grandson who has speech impediments, a seizure disorder (not epilepsy…not sure exactly wtf it is), and Tourette Syndrome!! Thank you, mighty State Government! My point is, *none* of these children would’ve been born if the grandmother had had her way…and she should’ve. They’re all fucking nuts.

YES! A NEW REVOLUTION!!! But, the Revolution of Common Sense shouldn’t be a quiet one. I’ve been beating myself up today over why I’m always saying things that I want to do in regards to the way our country and our world is turning out, but I hate that I never do anything! Everyone always says that something should be done, but the extremely rare few EVER DOES ANYTHING!!! If you’ve got strong enough views, and believe them wholeheartedly, then DO SOMETHING TO MAKE THEM HAPPEN!!! The reason I say this is because TOO MANY AMERICANS have become brainwashed by the “boob-tube” (in case there are some that don’t know what that means, its another way of saying TELEVISION) which is something I RARELY watch anymore. I only watch it for shows that I enjoy. The news…I get on the internet. I can no longer watch any mainstream media news channel without wanting to throw my TV out the window because there’s nothing but MORONS stating idiotic and incompetent slews of fallacious statements that have no ground of ANY COMMON SENSE or right of mind.
So, I’m going to do everything within and beyond my normal power to get our ONCE GREAT NATION back on its feet and in its right mind, so that the PEOPLE can learn the truth and fight back against the oppressions our government are disguising as means of “securing our borders” or means of “increasing our security.” I like to follow in the concept of “If you sacrifice liberty for security, you lose both.”

Lets start a Revolution! This is principle behind the UNITED STATES is how it was started, and when the Northern states tried to tell Southern states what to do they did what? They started a revolution or at least thats what it would have been called if the Confederacy had won the war.
