Backstabbing comes naturally to Americans. They are known for being straight up evil. Even I have been known for plotting on someone! *evil laugh*
There are very few of us who weren’t taught to “Look out for yourself no matter what others think or feel”. I wasn’t taught that, I just kinda took a lesson of life in my teenage years from nearly everyone I encountered.
Sometimes I feel at war with my family. I have always been the “black sheep” but my grandpa protected me but after he died it is “All man/woman for himself”!! I find myself giving someone a goodbye hug then squinting my, and thinking “I could so pwn you right now!” much too often.
