I'm glad I was smart enough to get the 4yr extended, because this past fall I had to have the screen, screen casing, and palm rest replaced. Before that I had to replace the keyboard (the shift key randomly fell off). Oh, and right now, my batter no longer works and due to them being so ungodly expensive right now, I have to be plugged in all the time. Thus, the moral of the story: Don't waste your time with Dell. I've no experience with Dell at all, but I do know my thinkpad is a very trusty companion. I wouldn't mind a donation button, actually. If you want a laptop, I suggest the Lenovo ThinkPad. They are very resilient; my friend dropped his (from ~5ft) and it was all kinds of fine, no problems at all.
